At Dream Mentorship, we believe every woman deserves mentorship because every dream is valid!
Our Story
This is the Dream Mentorship story, and we are just getting started.
2016: A Personal Search for Mentorship
I started Dream Mentorship because I was searching for mentorship myself. I was a newlywed, an immigrant in a new city, trying to apply to PhD programs, and completely lost. I needed guidance but didn’t know where to turn. I joined a discovery call for a mentorship program that seemed perfect for my goals—until I found out it cost $10,000 to participate. I couldn’t afford it, and I was disappointed.
Determined to find support, I reached out to women leaders in my community. I figured if I was struggling to find mentorship, others might be too. True enough, many of my friends shared similar struggles. That’s when I started hosting an intimate monthly group mentorship at my clubhouse with women in leadership.
2017: A New Season of Life
After that experience, I was finally accepted into a PhD program. Around the same time, I became a first-time mom and entered a completely new season of life. Again, I sought out mentors to help me navigate motherhood, career, and personal growth.
2018: Mentoring Others
The tables turned, and I started mentoring other women during the summers. I saw firsthand how even simple guidance could inspire and empower women to take bold steps toward their dreams.
2020: Becoming Official
After returning from an outreach trip to Ghana, I felt a strong nudge from God to take this mentorship vision further. That year, Dream Mentorship became an official nonprofit to help even more women. We started with just six women in our first cohort.
2022: Growing Together
By 2022, our community had grown tremendously. What began as a small group turned into a cohort of 83 women, each finding clarity, purpose, and direction through mentorship.
2024: A Bold Pivot for Global Impact
In 2024, as our community expanded to over 1,500 women, we saw the need for a more scalable solution. That’s when we developed our first in-house mentorship app prototype. Now, we’re on a mission to build the first phase of this software to offer accessible, Christ-centered, and affordable mentoring services to women everywhere—especially in hard-to-reach communities.
As a Nigerian-born woman, I know the difference a program like this would have made in my life as a young girl with big dreams. Today, I continue to see the direct impact of mentorship, both in my personal journey and in the lives of the women we serve.
Where We’re Headed
Dream Mentorship is more than a program; it’s a movement. My hope is that you’ll join me in this mission—to mentor, empower, and equip thousands of women this year, one life at a time.
Together, we can make mentorship accessible to every woman who needs it.
